The general rules to qualify for a Disability Pension require you to
1) have at least 10 pension credits
2) have worked in covered employment for at least 500 hours during the period that consists of the year you became disabled and the two previous years and
3) become entitled to Disability Benefits from Social Security.
If you do not meet number 2, Article 3 of the NASI Pension Plan has several alternate “attachment to the industry” tests that might apply to your situation.
